Carpet Cleaning Tips from Bayshore's Carpet Experts

Bayshore Carpet Cleaning Tips
Carpet Cleaning Tip number one
1-
With todays low prices on professional carpet cleaning, it does not make sense to do the work yourself. Unless you have the professional equipment the experts use, you are not going to get the same results. If you are not buying your cleaning products at wholesale prices like the cleaning companies, it is going to cost you the same amount of money to do the carpets as it would to hire a Bayshore Carpet Cleaning expert. The difference is that you will be spending your time doing the cleaning, and the carpets will not come out as clean. So, it really does not save you any money to clean your own carpets.

Carpet Cleaning Tip number two
2-

If you have to clean up only a portion of the carpet in your home, either due to traffic, or spills, then it does make sense to do the job yourself. Provided of course, that you have the right equipment for the job. Check our previous articles on what to use for different types of carpet stains, and give it a shot. If you have a steam cleaning machine, use that to clean up spills, and keep small areas prone to dirt clean between having the whole house done.

Carpet Cleaning Tip number three
3-
If you are thinking about cleaning more than a small area of carpet by yourself, refer to tip # 1.

Bayshore Carpet Cleaning Tips

Bayshore Carpet Cleaning Tips
Regular Bayshore Carpet Cleaning Maintenance - Try to vacuum on a regular basis, and don't use carpet cleaning shampoos that are liquid to clean your carpets. Have you ever washed your hair without getting out all the shampoo? That same sticky grime stays in your carpet. That is because the shampoo wont rinse out all the way, leaving that yucky residue, which acts like a magnet attracting and keeping the dirt from wherever it can.

Getting out old shampoo in your bayshore carpet cleaning adventures, isn't impossible to accomplish. Just follow this procedure, and you will have your old soft, clean carpet back in no time. First, rent a commercial shampoo machine that cleans with water. You can find these at most grocery stores. Next, mix 1 cup vinegar for every two to three gallons of water and follow the directions on the cleaning maching. Third, clean the carpet again with warm water only. The vinegar and hot water take the old shampoo out of the carpet, and use it to clean at the same time. It may take a few times depending on how much shampoo is in the carpet, but you will be pleased with the result.

Stains in carpet can be the hard to remove, but here are some tips to help. Never rub a stain, just blot using clean white cloths or paper towels. Rubbing the carpet breaks down the fibers and spreads the stain. You can Remove most food stains with shaving cream, and there are many stain removal products available. Look for the ones that tell you to blot the carpet as a rule. Spray on and resist the temptation to rub it in then let it set 15 minutes. Rinse with a vinegar and water solution.

As always with any new carpet cleaning product, prior to cleaning any surface areas, test the product over a small and hidden area to avoid damage or discoloring of the carpet.

More Bayshore Carpet Cleaning Tips:

Carpet Cleaning - An inexpensive way to neutralize odors:
Believe it or not, try Borax and cornmeal. As a carpet cleaning sprinkle, use a mixture consisting of 1 cup Borax and 2 cups cornmeal. Sprinkle on carpet, and let stand for one hour before vacuuming it up.

Carpet Cleaning - An inexpensive way to make your own carpet freshener:
Mix together 3/4 of a cup of baking soda, 2 tablespoons of corn starch, and a 1/4 cup lightly perfumed talcum powder. Sprinkle the mixture on dry carpet, and let it stand for about 15 minutes before you vacuum.

Carpet Cleaning for common stains:
Clean up spills as fast as you can. Blot or scrape up as much of the spill as possible, blotting from the outside toward the center.

Carpet Cleaning for a household red stain:
Try using club soda, which typically can remove red wine stains. For red dye stains like those found in drink mixes, Popsicles, and pet foods, use a 30/70 solution of hydrogen peroxide to water. Test a hidden spot first to make sure it doesn't bleach the carpet. Apply the mixture, then wait 30 minutes before removing as much as you can by blotting. Then rinse with a vinegar/ water solution. If the stain persists, try adding a bit more peroxide to the mixture and repeat the steps.

Carpet Cleaning for typical food stain removal:
Believe it or not, automotive brake cleaner is wonderful for removing most food stains. Put a little on a clean white cloth and gently blot the stain. Rinse with soap and water. Brake cleaner has the same ingredient as dry cleaners use. Do not pour the brake cleaner directly into the carpet, as it may dissolve the adhesive holding the carpet together.

Carpet Cleaning for pet urine stains:
First try an enzyme product commonly available in pet stores. These enzyme cleaners eat organic pet stains. Pour enough enzyme cleaner to saturate to the pad and treat an area twice as large as the stain. Urine hits the pad underneath and spreads where you may not see it. Let it set a couple of hours.

Carpet Cleaning to treat oil and grease stains:
Oil, grease and ink can be some of the hardest to remove. Most department stores carry products like DeSolvit or Orange Clean which work wonders removing these stubborn stains. Rubbing alcohol removes ink. Blot these on, and allow to set 30 minutes. Gently blot to remove. Finish by rinsing with Warm soap and water.

Bayshore Carpet Cleaning - Carpet News

Bayshore Carpet Cleaning - Map
A fire in a Texas carpet warehouse started Monday morning, and was contained by firefighters working from the outside of the building due to a collapsing roof.

The fire was reported to the Dallas Fire Department before 5:00am, stating a warehouse in the 2600 block of Irving Boulevard was burning, said Jason Evans, from Dallas Fire-Rescue. The location of the warehouse is in an industrial section of the city.

Upon arrival, Firefighters saw smoke coming from the back of the building, Evans said. The contents of the building being carpeting, tile, linoleum and other flooring products, made the fire ever so much more dangerous, and likely to grow fast, quickly becomming out of control, if not dealt with immediately. Dallas Fire Rescue began to aggressively fight the fire, Evans said in a news release, but not knowing how long it had been burning made them leary of the already unstable roof
collapsing.
"Trusting their instincts, they backed out of the warehouse and fought the fire defensively," Evans said. "Soon after doing so, the roof of the entire back half of the warehouse came crashing down."
A tremendous job by the Dallas Firefighters had the fire out in less than an hour, with no further damage having occured.
No one was hurt and the fire was put out shortly before 6 a.m., Evans said.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation Monday, he added.
